Special Invite Only – SCAnS Coder Certification Programme 2023
As a current/ex EIA delegate, you will be all too familiar with the SCAnS model. It’s the bedrock of everything we teach, from Emotional Intelligence, to Influence, to Deception Detection.
Since it’s inception in 2008, we have been working tirelessly to hone, validate and apply SCAnS in real-world high-stake contexts. SCAnS is now widely used in European airports for security screening, the Ministry of Defence for national intelligence, and Global Diplomacy in Romania, amongst many more professions worldwide.
We couldn’t be more proud and thankful of the teams and individuals who have enabled SCAnS to become what it is today – the gold standard in Behaviour Analysis.
In 2023 we want to continue the campaign for science-based behaviour analysis and emotional skills by working alongside talented and creative professionals who share our passion and genuine interest in understanding others.
We wish to pursue this goal through a new initiative – The SCAnS Coder Certification Programme.
Over the years, we have been asked many times to provide further development opportunities for those who want to use SCAnS in their professional sector. This programme was designed to cater for those people and raise the bar for behaviour analysts while providing a standardised methodology for reading and codifying verbal and non-verbal behaviour.
Through the MSc in CBCA we have seen groundbreaking research providing new insights, applications, and direction for this field. We need to build on these incredible contributions and combine the academic success of our students with a professional association that supports and promotes the use of SCAnS within the professional sectors you work in.
Designed solely for those with experience using the SCAnS framework, the SCAnS Coder Certification programme will put your SCAnS coding to the test, develop your confidence, and support you in adopting SCAnS into your professional and personal life.
What is the SCAnS Coder Certification Programme?
- 1 day live virtual refresher on SCAnS coding (Training)
- 4 x Video’s for independent SCAnS analysis (Test)
- 1 hour 1-1 virtual coaching with the SCAnS founders (Coaching)
- Hardcopy Certified SCAnS Coder certificate (Posted upon passing video analysis)
- The Certified SCAnS Coder digital badge for use on your digital profiles/websites
Please note: This is a development and certification programme. The SCAnS Coder Certification Programme is not a Train the Trainer event.
How much is it?
This is a pilot programme, the first of its kind, and is only available to you and a select group of your fellow EIA delegates with experience in using SCAnS and applying it in high-stake contexts. As such, we wanted to price this in a way that honours your commitment to us and the SCAnS methodology in the past, as well as to hopefully encourage you to continue your journey with us : )

Your Price – £799
As this certification process involves the assessment of coding against 4 criminal based videos – a significant portion of time will go into marking your coding, providing feedback to your 1-1 coach, and preparing for the 1-1 meeting itself.
We, therefore, will charge an additional remarking fee of £150 should your coding fall below the threshold of 70% accuracy. Our anticipated RRP for resits for future groups is £299.

The first intake for the SCAnS Coder Certification Programme will take place on:
- Date: January 10th 2023
- Time of live virtual workshop: 10:00 – 16:00 London, UK
- Assessment (4 videos for SCAnS Coding): 1 Month (10th February)
- Coaching Session: TBD following assessment feedback
